Communications Manager, BC LNG Alliance

The organization

The BC LNG Alliance (BCLNGA) represents the seven-leading liquefied natural gas projects in B.C. with a mandate to foster the environmentally and socially responsible, sustainable development of an LNG industry in B.C.

The position

 The BCLNGA is looking for a Communications Manager who can lead, direct and inspire communications across multiple platforms.

The Manager of Communications reports to the President and CEO with direction from the Alliance’s Board of Directors and a communications subcommittee comprised of representatives from the seven members. The position is the lead for all communications and marketing activities for the Alliance.

Requirements

  • Ten to 15 years of corporate communications experience preferably in government, natural resources, utilities or transportation at a senior level.
  • Post-secondary degree in communications, journalism or public relations.
  • Demonstrated skills in strategic communications planning, crisis communications, social media strategy and
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in communicating across multiple channels and finding creative ways to reach new audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to convey complex information in plain language.
  • Experience building relationships and working with community and First Nations partners.
  • Considerable experience in media relations and strong relationships with media in British Columbia. Experience as a spokesperson is an asset.
  • Advanced project management skills, with the ability to triage priorities and issues.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and graphic design software.
  • The ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, while meeting and exceeding goals and objectives.
